Layne, Wes, and Jeff Gentry share seventy-seven years of combined experience in the construction industry. Fifty-six of those years were spent strictly in the construction of financial institutions while the three individuals were in the employment of Bank Building Corporation.
All three were still working for BBC when the corporation filed for Chapter Eleven in 1990.

That incident prompted the Gentrys to put their experience on the line by forming their own construction company. Gentry Inc. has enjoyed steady growth and profitability since its inception in 1990. The three original partners retain 100% of the corporation stock.

Jeff Gentry has been involved in commercial construction for forty-three years. Prior to the establishment of Gentry Construction, he worked for Bank Building Corporation for thirty-two years, evolving from carpenter to vice president of construction of  a $200,000,000.00 corporation. At present, he is CEO of Gentry Construction, Inc.

Wes Gentry has been involved in commercial construction for twenty-three years. Prior to Gentry Construction, he worked for Bank Building Corporation for fourteen years, first hired as the youngest superintendent in the organization. Over the years, he earned special recognitions for his outstanding performances in bringing various projects in on schedule and within budget. Project budgets were anywhere from $400,000.00 to $22,000,000.00. At present he is President, project manager, and estimator for Gentry Construction.

Layne Gentry has been involved in commercial construction for sixteen years. Prior to Gentry Construction, he worked for Bank Building Corporation for seven years. He was initially hired as a carpenter foreman; shortly progressed to supervisor which involved estimating, cost projections, scheduling, purchasing, and quality control; and he ended his career with BBC as project manager on a $5,000,000.00 school renovation in St. Louis, Mo. At present he is Vice President, project manager, and estimator for Gentry Construction.

Kenneth McMurry has been involved in commercial construction for thirty-eight years. Prior to joining Gentry Construction, he worked for Ray Ward Construction, Bradley Construction, and Actus Sundt Corporation. At Actus Sundt he was project manager involved in a design-build seventy-six unit family housing project at Holloman Air Force Base. At present he is the senior estimator for Gentry Construction.
